Supra MK III-  ICE

I.C.E - In Car Entertainment

The Importance of having suitable speakers in any audio system cannot be over emphasised.  All too often, they are regarded as an after thought, even on complex and expensive set-ups.  When considering your system you should start by looking at your speakers. (Uprate where necessary)

The Supra MkIII sound system is one of the best standard systems I've seen.  But I do not like 'standard'.  People always say to me, "why have you spent so much on your hi-fi ? ".  I Reply,  "I like music,  I like quality sound.  I can't stand hissing noises etc.  When it comes to music, I really only listen to pure quality sound, if I do not get it,  I do not listen to it".  If that does not work then try this one............

You ask them, do you like music ?  YES / NO
How much did your house system cost ?
How often do you listen to it per day ?
How often are you in the car ?

90% of the time, you are in the car, therefore if you like music, it is  more practical to uprate your car system.  I have a very high standard house system. What ever I listened to sounded great at home, therefore from listening to that and getting straight into the car the quality of sound was very poor.  So first of all, I had a Jensen 2 channel amp and Pro Plus sub box lying around (From my old car), so I fitted them, then I Uprated the front speakers to Kenwood Carbon Fibre Component set.  Then I installed the Acoustic shelf and a set of JBL P923 6 x 9 speakers.  Stage 1 Completed.

Before buying a set, forget everything about makes and models.  That means nothing in this game. For example SONY good or bad ?. Personally I would not have it in the house or car.  The best thing to do is ask the professionals.  Don't go down to your local supplier of  I.C.E and say I want a system.  Go to to some Sound Off competitions,  and check what the people winning the prizes have got installed. Anyone heard of Magnat speakers ?.  Well at the moment they are storming ahead of the rest.  If you can't get to a sound off, then get down to your newsagent and buy a copy of Car Stereo magazine.  Each month they display the best stuff to match your install budget.  Then even before you buy it, see it working.  The speakers I think sound good, may be not your choice. Everybody is different, therefore check them out yourself.
